How to Make a UPI / WhatsApp / Website QR Code with Logo — In Your Browser
Every dukan in India now has a QR code on the counter. This tool generates QR codes for the four most-used purposes — UPI direct-payment, WhatsApp pre-filled chat, website link, and vCard contact — with optional logo overlay in the centre. Zero upload. Free.
1. UPI QR Codes — the most-asked use case
UPI QR codes contain a structured upi://pay? URL that lifts the customer’s payment app (PhonePe, GPay, Paytm, BHIM) with the receiver name and (optionally) the amount pre-filled. Print the QR on glossy paper, laminate it, stick it on the counter — done.
Recommended UPI QR settings
- Error correction: M or Q (15–25%) if you’re adding a logo, otherwise L.
- Size: 512 px or 1024 px for crisp print.
- Foreground: dark colour, contrast against background ≥ 4:1.
- Logo: keep it ≤ 18% of total area; use Q or H error correction.
2. WhatsApp QR Codes
Format: https://wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX?text=Hi%20I’d%20like%20to%20.... When scanned, opens WhatsApp directly with the pre-filled message ready to send. Useful for “Order via WhatsApp” stickers on tea stalls, kirana shops, photo studios.
3. URL / Website QR
Simplest type. Encodes any URL. Useful for menu cards, business cards, posters.
4. vCard QR
Encodes a contact card. When scanned, the contact is added to the user’s phonebook with one tap. Useful for business cards, conference name tags.
5. Logo overlay best practices
- Use error correction H (30%) when adding logo.
- Logo size: ~15% of QR (default in our tool).
- Use a square logo with a small white margin.
- Always test-scan with PhonePe, GPay and Paytm before printing 100 copies.
6. Common errors and fixes
- QR doesn’t scan. Increase error correction or remove the logo.
- UPI amount didn’t auto-fill. Some apps ignore amount field. Customer enters manually.
- WhatsApp doesn’t open. Number format wrong. Use country code without + (e.g.
919812345678). - Logo too big — corrupts QR. Reduce logo or increase error correction to H.
- Colours unscannable. Use dark on light. Avoid red/green colourblind combos.
- QR pixelated on print. Increase Size to 1024 px before download.
- vCard scans but doesn’t save contact. Field syntax issue. Try fewer fields.
7. Cyber cafe business angle
Print 100 laminated QR stickers for local kirana shops at ₹50 each = ₹5,000 batch. Pure profit (cost: ₹3 ink + ₹1 paper + ₹1 lamination = ₹5). Approach 20 shops a day. Repeats annually as stickers fade.

Are my UPI details uploaded?
Never. QR is generated in your browser using qrcode.js.
Maximum URL length?
Up to ~2,953 characters at error correction L. Less at higher EC.
Will it work for international UPI?
UPI is India-only currently. International coming via UPI Global.
Can I download as SVG?
Currently PNG only. SVG export coming Q2 2026.
Bitcoin / crypto QR?
Use Plain text type with the wallet address.
How to test scan?
Use Google Lens, PhonePe scanner, GPay scanner — all should detect.
Add multiple logos?
Single logo only.
Animated QR?
No — static only.
WiFi password QR?
Use Plain text with WIFI:T:WPA;S:NETWORK;P:PASSWORD;;.
Will it work with QR-Code on credit card?
Yes — encode as URL or text.
What about Bharat QR / RuPay specific?
Use UPI type with the merchant’s VPA.
Print resolution?
1024 px PNG → ~600 DPI on standard 5×5 cm print.
Free for commercial use?
Yes, unlimited.
HEIC logo?
Auto-converted by browser.
